We see the same avoidable mistakes in systems brought to us for repair. Avoid these and your system will outlast its warranty.
1. Undersized DC Cable
Long runs with thin cable silently burn 3–8% of your generation as heat. Use 4–6mm² PV wire and keep strings short.
2. AC Breakers on the DC Side
AC breakers cannot break DC arcs — a genuine fire hazard. Only DC-rated MCBs between panels and inverter.
3. Panels Facing the Wrong Way
In Pakistan, true south at 25–30° tilt is optimal; west-facing arrays lose morning yield but can suit evening-heavy loads with hybrid systems.
4. No Surge Protection
One nearby lightning strike can take out an unprotected inverter. DC+AC SPDs cost a fraction of a replacement.
5. Ignoring Ventilation
Inverters derate above 45°C. Shade the unit, leave clearance per the manual, and never box it into a sealed cabinet.
